Scottish Schools Success

Great day of results at the Scottish Schools Final at Bathgate Academy with 4 NATTC players qualifying to represent Scotland at the British School Championships in June.

In the U16 Girls, Holly McNamara won the Scottish U16 Girls title defeating her club mate Jess Hogg (Largs Academy) in the final 3-1. This means both girls will be part of the Scottish ‘A’ team in the British event in June.

Nathan Hogg of Largs Academy performed great under pressure to secure a spot in the A team alongside Edinburgh sensation Borui Chen. Nathan battled from 2-1 9-7 down in the QF v Aberdeens Daniel Tibbets to qualify for the Scottish Schools team. In the final group of 4, Nathan overcame Harry Blackhall 3-2 and Charlie McGowan to finish in 2nd place behind Borui.

Jamie Johnson of Auchenharvie Academy worked his way through 3 Aberdeen players to secure his spot in the U16 Boys Scottish Schools team. In the final group of four he overcame another Aberdeen player Josef Bokadal 3-1 and recently improved Dundee player Jacob Munro 3-1 to set up a match v Drumchapels Rayyan Khalid for the title. Jamie played well throughout the match but narrowly lost out 3-2 to Rayyan.

Naomi Provan (Arran High School) finished 5th in the U18 Girls event behgind Paula Callaghan and with a player who finished in the top not able to make the British Finals we hope that Naomi will be next in line to qualify for a place in the Scottish Schools team.
