National Titles for North Ayrshire Players
Another cracker of a weekend at the 2023 Scottish National Championships. 11 players from NATTC entered plus umpires, coaches and parents made the journey to Bells SC, Perth π
Great performances from all with plenty of NATTC players competing in the final stages of their respective events π₯π₯π₯
We had senior players playing in their 18th national championships and junior players competing in their first national championships. See results below;
β’ Holly McNamara crowned Junior Girls National Champion π. Holly showed her class powering though her opponents to win the title.
β’ Nathan Hogg crowned Junior Boys National Champion beating club mate Jamie Johnson in final 3-0 π. Nathan playing quality TT all day to win the u19 title at 16 years old. This was a great result for the club to get two of our top performing juniors in a national final.
β’ Martin Johnson reaching his first mens singles final & beating 16x Scottish Champion Gavin Rumgay enroute π₯. Martin just losing out in an epic 7 set match v Edinburghs Calum Morrison in the final.
β’ Holly & Jess Hogg winning the Junior Girls doubles title beating Hannah McDowell & Maria DeSilva in the final π
β’ Jamie Johnson reaching the final of junior boys singles with two five set b2b wins v Daniel Tibbets in the QF & Kieran Walker in the Semifinal π₯
β’ Ryan Henry winning the Para singles beating Martin Perry in a high class final 12-10 in the 5th set π
β’ Chris Main reaching the QF of the mens singles for 11th year in a row. Chris & Sean lost out in the semi final of the menβs doubles to Danny Bajwa & Martin Johnson.
β’ Padma Unnam & Tamara Martin competed in their first national championships. Padma finishing 3rd in U13 Girls and Tamara finishing 5th in U13 Girls. Great experience competing yet again with both representing Scotland internationally later this season.
